How to measure for a made-to-measure bookcase
Measure the wall or niche width in three places: at the floor, halfway up and at the top, and enter the smallest result. If the bookcase should reach the ceiling, measure the height on both sides the same way.
Depth is 24, 32 or 40 cm. A shallower bookcase sticks out less from the wall; a deeper one holds albums and binders. Before you choose, measure the largest book you want to put on it.
Style, columns and rows
You start with the style. Grid has equal full-height columns, Mosaic alternates wide and narrow ones, and in Gradient the columns widen from the left or from the right. In Pattern every row is divided differently, and in Slant the rows are offset like bricks, with one shelf end in each row running past the side.
You set the number of columns with the density slider. When you widen the bookcase, the configurator adds columns by itself so the shelves do not sag. Rows are low, medium or tall (18, 28 or 38 cm), and you can change the height of a single row or cell, for example for tall albums.
Back, fronts and finish
The back can be full, 18 mm board in the furniture colour, or partial, so the wall shows through: vertical strips beside the sides and dividers, or a board in every third cell. In the Grid, Mosaic and Gradient styles you can also choose a thin HDF back or no back at all. You add doors and drawers in the cells you pick, flush or recessed by 2 cm, and open them without handles (TIP-ON), with a knob, an edge handle or a bar handle.
You can design the bookcase in laminate board, lacquered MDF or melamine-faced birch plywood. Laminate board comes in Kronospan décors that resist scratches and wipe clean: wood-look natural oak and walnut, and plain colours from white to black. Lacquered MDF has a smooth matt finish in a RAL colour. Melamine plywood comes in pastel colours with a raw birch edge you see on the shelf fronts.

Frequently asked questions
You set the columns with the density slider, and their range depends on the width and the style. The number of rows follows from the height and from whether you choose low, medium or tall rows.
Yes, if the ceiling is up to 196 cm high, because that is the tallest size in the configurator. Under a higher ceiling there will be space left above the bookcase.
You can choose a full 18 mm board back, strips beside the sides and dividers, a board in every third cell or thin HDF. A bookcase without a back is less rigid, so it has to be fixed to the wall.
